Fenaka to train 120 individuals per year in the utilities sector

Fenaka Corporation Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment to train 120 individuals every year in the utilities sector under the National Apprenticeship Programme.

The MoU was signed by Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Hussain Ismail and Managing Director of Fenaka Ahmed Saeed Mohamed. Under the MoU, Fenaka will undertake the training of 120 individuals per year for jobs in utilities services, including electricity, water supply and sewerage. The duration of the MoU is two years.

The training programmes to be undertaken under the MoU includes programmes on electrical installation and maintenance, sewerage system operation and maintenance, utility laboratory technician services and supply systems operation and maintenance. All courses are Level 3 courses in the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF), and are to be conducted under the National Competency Standards developed by the Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA).

The National Apprenticeship Programme aims to train youth to the employment market under the technical guidance and assistance of industry experts. The programme is carried out to facilitate more job opportunities for local youth.
