Ministry of Health has donated a FibroScan machine to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
FibroScan is a non-invasive method proposed for the assessment of hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic liver disease by measuring liver stiffness. IGMH said the donation of the FibroScan machine is part of the efforts of the government to strengthen the treatment of viral hepatitis.
Viral hepatitis is an infection that causes liver inflammation and damage. The disease can spread through contact with an infected person’s blood or other body fluids.
