Details required when submitting live fish exports: Customs

Maldives Customs Service has instructed to submit details of all types of live fish when submitting the export declaration.

Customs noted that some exporters are declaring live fish products as one item on invoices and goods declaration forms submitted for export from the Maldives. Customs noted it has caused difficulties in maintaining statistics on exports. Therefore, MCS has requested to declare size, scientific name, and the value of all live fish items separately from March 15 onwards.

The authority revealed all invoices and export declaration forms that do not specify the details will be rejected. Major fish exports from the Maldives consist of fish products.
