Bank of Maldives (BML) has revealed the deadline for the Startup Grant launched as part of the series of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate its 40th anniversary will end on March 16.
The BML Startup Grant is a programme for emerging entrepreneurs to win grant funding to start or grow a business in the Maldives. As such, four winning businesses will be awarded USD32,300 each. BML will provide mentoring support for the winners to successfully implement their plans.
Manager, Public Relations of BML Mohamed Saeed revealed individuals wishing to start a business in any sector can apply for the grant scheme, adding existing businesses that are less than one year in operation and new businesses can also apply. BML said the evaluation of the applications is conducted in two parts. As such, BML said the best 10 business plans will be selected first and the opportunity to present the plans will be given for the selected business plans.
BML said it wishes to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of the startup community to create jobs and opportunities to maximize positive impact for society through the programme.
