Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam has stated the government is working in accordance with the Masterplan for National Development. He made the statement while responding to questions in the Parliament of the Maldives.
Speaking at the Parliament, Minister Aslam said that various governments have been formulating plans for national development in accordance with the party manifesto, ever since the multi-party system was established in the country. As such, the minister said President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is following a special strategic action plan that was formulated to fulfill the presidential manifesto. He said the plan is split into 26 parts that are categorised under six zones and three regions.
The planning minister also said establishing a modern public transport system is part of the manifesto and that the action plan includes the establishment of a high-speed ferry network.
