Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has concluded the dredging of the harbour in Himmafushi, Kaafu Atoll.
MTCC said it has completed dredging 14,300cbm for the proposed harbour basin. MTCC will also carry out the construction of a 38m rock boulder revetment and a 172m rock boulder breakwater. MTCC is currently conducting the concrete works on the outer wall of the harbour.
The harbour development project in Himmafushi aims to resolve the difficulties faced in entry and exit of vessels and the transport of cargo to the island.
The harbour development project in Himmafushi was contracted to MTCC in 2020 to be completed at a cost of USD1.68 million.
