President requests PCB to make changes to HDC Board of Directors

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has requested the Privatisation and Corporatisation board (PCB) to make changes to the Board of Directors of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). He made the request after Managing Director Suhail Ahmed retired from HDC in late August.

PCB has thanked Suhail for his valuable contributions to the company and stated that he was dismissed from his position after he announced his retirement. Suhail was appointed as the Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors in December 2018. He has 15 years of experience at HDC and held the post of Managing Director from 2012 to 2015 as well, before his brief departure. HDC stated that he has brought about transformative developments in Hulhumale’ over the years. The company stated that he is a pioneer in city development and his experience and innovative mechanisms in this field are unparalleled in the Maldives.

HDC is the largest state-owned enterprise (SOE) in the Maldives and Suhail has worked as a senior official at HDC during the past four administrations. HDC has also thanked Suhail for his valuable service.
