IndiGo to introduce flights from two more Indian cities to the Maldives

IndiGo, an Indian low-cost carrier, has prepared to launch scheduled flights from two more cities in India to the Maldives.

IndiGo has revealed plans to start flights from Chennai and Hyderabad. The airline said it will commence scheduled flights from the two cities to the Maldives starting from November 1. As such, flights from Chennai to Velana International Airport (VIA) will be scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Meanwhile, flights from Hyderabad to the Maldives will be scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, according to IndiGo.

IndiGo resumed flights to the Maldives in September 2020 following the COVID-19 lockdown. IndiGo currently operates scheduled flights to the Maldives from Bangalore and Mumbai. The airline launched its first inaugural flight from Kochi to VIA on November 15, 2018.
