Ministry of Health has contracted North Coast Private Limited to develop the Dhamana Veshi in Kulhudhuffushi City.
The health ministry announced plans to develop a community health facility in Kulhudhuffushi in February 2021. The project was handed over to North Coast at a cost of USD1.73 million and should be completed within 420 days.
The people of the northern islands are heavily dependent on Kulhudhuffushi for health services. Therefore, the health ministry plans to strengthen the preventive health care services in the city. The efforts of the government to strengthen the health system on the island include infrastructure development as well as the provision of health facilities and doctors and nurses.
Dhamana Veshi normally provides counseling services to solve problems faced by adolescents. In addition, it provides health services to those who want to quit smoking. Such a facility is currently developed in Addu City in addition to the facility in Male' City.
