The Maldives has won 31 awards at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2022.
Vice President Faisal Naseem attended the awards ceremony which is one of the most prestigious tourism awards in South Asia. The award ceremony was held at Adaaran Select Hudhuran Fushi in the Maldives.
A total of six South Asian countries competed for SATA 2022. More than 500 venues from six countries have been nominated for the awards. The awards have been endorsed by more than 15 organisations in the Maldives and abroad.
Resorts in the Maldives won the Leading Adventure Provider Award, Leading Liveaboard Award, Leading Beach Winner Award, Leading Dive Centre Brand Award, Leading GSA Award, Leading Tourist Transfer Provider Award, Leading Surf Hotel Resort Award, and Leading Travel Agent Outbound.
Additionally, the Maldives won the Leading Family Resort Award, Leading Designer Resort Award, Leading PSA Award, Leading Dive Resort Award, Leading Yacht Marina Resort Award, Leading Tourist Provider Land and Sea Award, Leading Liveaboard Brand Award, Leading Airport Hotel Award, Leading All-Inclusive Resort Award, and Leading Beach Resort Award,
The Maldives also won the Leading Boutique Hotel Resort Award, Leading Business Hotel Award, Leading Eco-Friendly Resort Award, Leading Guesthouse Tourist Inn Award,
Leading Heritage Hotel Award, Leading Luxury Hotel Resort Award, Leading Wedding Hotel Resort Award, Leading Wellness Resort Award, most Romantic Resort Award, and Leading Honeymoon Destination Award.
The SATA 2021 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 awards ceremony was held online.
