Contracts awarded to develop additional facilities for five schools

Ministry of Education has awarded contracts to develop additional facilities required for five schools in the atolls.

The contracts were awarded to four different companies. As such, the development of a science laboratory building in Bilehdhoo School in Faafu Atoll and the development of science laboratory building in the Faafu Atoll School located in Feeali were contracted to Isco Investment Private Limited. The projects in Bilehdhoo School and Faafu Atoll School were contracted at prices of USD150,000 each and with a completion period of 95 days.

In addition, the development of a two-storey building, multipurpose hall, and surrounding wall in Omadhoo, Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, was contracted to Untold Private Limited at a price of USD1.3 million with a completion period of 400 days. Development of six classrooms, health room and counselling room in Thaa Atoll School in Guraidhoo, Thaa Atoll, was contracted to Mims Construction Private Limited at a price of USD630,000 with a completion period of one year, while the development of a science laboratory building in in Munavvara School in Maroshi, Shaviyani Atoll, was contracted to Constech Private Limited at a price of USD137,000 with a completion period of 145 days.

The projects contracted by the education ministry are part of the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP), included in the State Budget of 2022.
