Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has allocated 23 land plots in Hulhumale’ to be leased to garages operating in Male’ City.
HDC opened the opportunity to apply for the land plots in December last year. The initiative aims to enhance safety and provide better business opportunities for garage owners in Male' City. A total of 190 applications were submitted for the 23 plots and HDC held a lucky draw to select the recipients for the relocation of garages operating in Male’ to Hulhumale’.
HDC conducted a survey to verify the information provided in the application forms to ensure transparency and accuracy in the selection process. The survey focused on garages operating near residential areas and special attention was given to garages serving four-wheeled vehicles.
The allocated plots in Hulhumale’ range in size from 1,297-1,447sqm. HDC will allow two-storey garages to be built on the land plots. The state-owned company also stated that the positive response to the allocation of land plots for garages in Male' City has encouraged it to consider opening more plots in the future.
