The Ministry of Housing, Land, and Urban Development has resumed the distribution of land plot registries for individuals who have yet to receive them under the Binveriya Housing Scheme.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that the ministry will initiate the handover of registrations to eligible recipients starting this week. The decision follows the suspension of the land allocation process due to complaints related to the distribution of land plots and flats.
The ministry stated that individuals scheduled to sign the agreements will receive notifications via SMS, specifying the date, time, and location of their appearance. In addition, the ministry will address any discrepancies in the registries or agreements for previously allocated land plots.
President Dr. Muizzu has said that some of the allocated land plots are currently undergoing land reclamation, with ongoing reclamation activities in Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru Falhu. He reassured that land allocated by the previous government will remain in its designated location and will not be relocated elsewhere.
