President attends the World Governments Summit 2024

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has attended the World Governments Summit 2024. The summit, held from February 12-14, is convened at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE.

The President is in the UAE at the invitation of Vice President, Prime Minister, and Minister for Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

This year, the World Governments Summit takes place under the theme 'Shaping Future Governments', where governments, international organisations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders will come together to discuss future challenges and empower the next generation of governments.

Addressing the summit, President outlined his vision to achieve sustainable development in the economic sectors under the Visitor Economy Concept. He highlighted some of the development projects including the central maritime port with a free zone, expansion of the Velana International Airport, and the integration of maritime development in the northernmost atoll with a global shipping route.
