President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Kashima Ahmed Shakir as the chairperson of the National Awards Committee.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu appointed Shakir after recipient of the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (ODRI) Aneesa Ahmed submitted her resignation as chairperson due to health reasons. In a letter to Anisa Ahmed, the President accepted her resignation and expressed gratitude for her valuable service with honesty and integrity over a long tenure as the chairperson of the National Awards Committee.
In addition to the change, member of the National Award Committee recipient of the Order of the Dignified Rule of the Muleege Dynasty (ODRMD) Ibrahim Ismail Ali was appointed on December 14, 2023, as the Minister of State for Social and Family Development. As such, the President has appointed recipient of the Order of the Dignified Rule of Dhiyamigili Dynasty (ODRDD) Badhuru Naseer as a new member of the National Award Committee.
