Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih emphasized that the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) comprises the most effective members of governmental accountability. He made the remarks while speaking at a campaign rally in Fuvahmulah City, as part of the party's drive for the upcoming parliamentary election.
Speaking at the rally, Solih emphasised the pivotal role of the opposition within Parliament. He underscored the necessity of holding the government accountable, especially regarding adherence to budgetary allocations. He reiterated the party's commitment to public service, affirming that its members are best positioned to fulfill this role. Furthermore, he pledged the party's backing for the Fuvahmulah City Airport development initiative, as per the current administration's pledges.
MDP leadership, alongside Solih, is engaged in campaign activities in Addu City and Fuvahmulah.
