Corruption yields temporary rewards, several adverse effects: ACC

President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Adam Shamil has emphasised that embracing forms of corruption will only yield short-term rewards, while affecting the nation's long-term prospects.

During an interview with PSM News, President of ACC Shamil shed light on the various disadvantages posed to the society due to bribery. Shamil elucidated that severe penalties are implemented by law for those engaged in corruption activities and bribery during the election period. The primary purpose of implementing such measures is to prevent such actions nearing the elections, as it has the potential to adversely impact the society in the long run.

Emphasising the significance of voting with integrity during the ongoing parliamentary elections, stating that it is a national duty and a collective obligation of every individual. He additionally urged residents to elect responsible parliamentarians with integrity.

ACC has also created a portal in which corruption cases during the elections can be submitted or reported.
