Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has revealed that 207,693 individuals have voted by 1700hrs in the ongoing parliamentary elections.
Statistics released by the ECM indicates that the votes of 207,693 individuals contributes to 72.96% of the eligible voters cast votes so far, including 104,826 men and 102,867 women. Hence, it can be inferred that a total of 76,970 individuals out of 284,663 individuals remain to cast votes.
With the parliamentary election electing candidates competing for the representative position of 93 constituencies, voting hours will continue until 1730hrs.
ECM has urged individuals to cast votes promptly, as the time allocated for voting will not be extended provided any circumstances.
