Former President Mohamed Nasheed has extended felicitations to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and People's National Congress (PNC)'s leadership for its incredible achievement in the parliamentary elections.
The ruling party, PNC, successfully secured 66 seats in the incoming parliament, including additional seats endorsed by the President.
Former President Nasheed formerly held the position as the Speaker of the Parliament in the previous parliament. Meanwhile, he announced his retirement from political involvement, with no parliamentarian seats contested by him to the incoming parliament.
Several political leaders have also extended congratulations to candidates elected on the PNC ticket, in addition to former President Nasheed.
