ACC introduces speech-to-text app, Kathib

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched "Kathib"; an application with speech recognition software, to assist in scribing statements made during meetings held by the commission. The application was launched in a special ceremony, by ACC's (rtd) Superintendent of Investigation Abdul Azeez Moosa.

Kathib application was introduced under the initiative of digitalising and automating the works of the ACC. The application, powered by artificial intelligence and speech recognition software, is capable of scribing statements recorded in Dhivehi language immediately and to preserve and assemble important documents in an orderly manner. Prior to the official launch of the application, ACC conducted testing by utilizing it for various purposes over the past four months.

Following the officiation of Kathib, working hours for the employees of ACC will be reduced drastically as the application will type necessary statements including those related to investigations.

The developer of Kathib application, OXIQA Private Limited, unveiled that the application will be enhanced by introducing a feature to summarise statements, in addition to the speech-to-text feature.
