People concerns will be acknowledged drafting policies

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, who is currently in New York to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), took the opportunity to meet with Maldivians residing in New York City and surrounding areas. The meeting, held at the Permanent Mission of Maldives to the United Nations, aimed to engage the Maldivian diaspora and address their concerns.

During the gathering, President Muizzu spoke with individual participants, inquiring about their welfare, challenges, and needs. He emphasised the Government's commitment to formulating policies by closely listening to the people. He reaffirmed his administration’s focus on open dialogue and citizen engagement.

The President assured the attendees that their concerns would be carefully considered and addressed. He also explained how the Government is working to align its efforts with the needs of the Maldivian community abroad, ensuring that policies reflect their real challenges.

In addition to the meeting, President Muizzu signed the guest book of the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations, further strengthening the ties between the Maldivian Government and its diplomatic presence in New York.
