On the occasion of Maldives Women in Policing Day, Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen reaffirmed commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for women officers within the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
The annual day, marked on 17 September, celebrates the contributions of female officers.
In a message to commemorate the day, Commissioner Naveen expressed his pride in the significant role played by women in the police service.
"The dedication, courage, and professionalism of our female officers are a great strength to the entire police service," he stated.
Highlighting the critical functions women officers perform, Naveen noted their frontline presence in engaging with all segments of society. He emphasised that this role is vital for serving the public safely and equally. Their contributions, he added, reflect the force's broader commitment to diversity, fairness, and equality.
The Commissioner also recognised the progress made in women's advancement within the force, which has enabled them to attain leadership positions. This trajectory, he said, shows the potential for continued growth and empowerment.
The success of the police service, Naveen concluded, is built on a foundation of providing security, maintaining public trust, and upholding justice. His message reinforces the MPS's ongoing efforts to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all its officers.
