Indian Idol season 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant on Tuesday arrived in the Maldives to perform at Public Service Media’s Eid al-Adha festival in Fonadhoo.
PSM gave Abhijeet a warm welcome upon his arrival at Iskandhar Airbase in Laamu Atoll. Maldivian Idol Laisha Junaid were among those who greeted him at the airport.
He is due to perform at PSM’s Eid Ufaa festival in Fonadhoo tonight.
Abhijeet Sawant is an Indian playback singer, television actor and anchor and the winner of Indian Idol season 1. He was the first runner up of Clinic All Clear – Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar, and finished third in Asian Idol.
Meanwhile, PSM Eid Ufa festival continued for a third day in Fonadhoo with a host of cultural and traditional activities, and performances by local dance groups, music bands and top ten contestants of Maldivian Idol season 1.
