AA. Atoll named biggest supplier of agricultural products

The Agriculture Ministry said Tuesday that Alifu Alifu Atoll was the biggest supplier of farm produce to Malé from August 28 to September 1.

According to statistics released by the Ministry, 60% of agricultural products supplied to markets in Malé during the period came from Alifu Alifu Atoll, followed by Laamu Atoll with 12%.

Other top suppliers included Baa, Shaviyani and Kaafu atolls, while the least contribution came from Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. Coconut and papaya topped the supply list.

Other agricultural produce supplied to Malé included eggplant, pumpkin, cucumber and habanero, in addition to Chinese cabbage and salad greens.
