President inspects MNDF-led redevelopment of Sultan Park

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inspected ongoing work by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to upgrade Sultan Park to modern standards.

During his visit to the park, the President was briefed on the facilities being developed under MNDF supervision, incorporating modern technology. He also reviewed the progress of physical works currently underway as part of efforts to transform the park.

The President further inquired about activities planned for the public in the Sultan Park area as part of “Eid Haveeru 1447”, an event organised by the MNDF to mark Eid al-Fitr.

As part of the visit, he inspected final preparations for stalls set up for the event, as well as newly developed recreational features within the park, including an overhead obstacle course and a shooting range.

The redevelopment of Sultan Park had been assigned to the MNDF to ensure the site’s rapid restoration, following years of neglect and deterioration.

Once completed, the upgraded park will feature modern facilities and integrated technology. In addition, the area previously used for the “Winter Park” will be redeveloped to include a dedicated e-gaming centre.
