MPL to speed up container unloading at Malé port

Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Ports Ltd. Mohamed Junaid has said that efforts are being made to speed up the container unloading process at Malé Commercial Harbour.

He was speaking after opening a park in the harbour area, designated for stevedores.

Junaid said the port currently employs only a single reach-stacker for unloading containers, and that the vehicle is 15-years old.

He assured that “delays in unloading containers are expected to be solved within a week.”
