President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated His Majesty King Haakon VIII on his accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Norway, expressing hope for stronger friendship and bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and Norway during his reign.
In a message sent after the King pledged an oath of allegiance to Norway’s Constitution before the country’s Parliament, President Muizzu expressed confidence that King Haakon VIII’s leadership would uphold the enduring values and traditions of the Norwegian Monarchy and guide the Norwegian people with dedication and distinction.
Highlighting the close and friendly relations between the two countries, President Muizzu said the Maldives and Norway share ties founded on mutual respect and common values. He expressed hope that the bonds of friendship and bilateral cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened during the King’s reign.
President Muizzu concluded by wishing King Haakon VIII good health and well-being, while conveying his best wishes for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the Norwegian people.
