Tourism Minister applauds the increase of insurance companies

The Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer has applauded the increase in the number of insurance companies in the Maldives, taking into account, progress made in the tourism sector.

Addressing the function held at Hotel Jen to mark the first anniversary of Sollarelle Insurance Private Limited, Minister Zameer said that it was necessary for relevant sectors to progress at the same pace as the tourism sector. He said that the speedy development in the insurance sector is exemplary. Minister Moosa Zameer said that while insurance policies have become vital for every investment in tourism, the sector only has greener prospects in the country.

Chairman of Sollarelle Insurance Private Limited Ibrahim Saleem noted the progress the company has made in the first year. He announced plans to open a branch of Sollarelle in Addu City.

The company, licensed in April 2016, provides all types of general insurance policies, consisting of aviation, marine, fire, property, motor and other miscellaneous classes.
