Elections Commission of the Maldives has extended deadline to re-register to vote in an island other than the island a citizen is at.
The deadline to re-register was extended until 0000 hours tomorrow night due to bundles of submissions, according to a tweet posted by the spokesperson of elections commission Ahmed Akram. Moreover, Akram revealed a period of three days will be given to solve any issues in the registered place.
Noting that about 2,000 forms have been given to Maldives Police Service to ensure the validity of the fingerprints, spokesperson of elections commission said any forms that are invalid will be rejected.
Ahmed Akram said so far 72,000 forms have been submitted.
