Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has claimed if President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom secures a second term in office, ideology war against Islam in Maldives will weaken and will further enhance Islamic principles and values in the country. President Yameen has been working to protect the Islamic identity of Maldives, running mate of the ruling party Mohamed Shaheem said while addressing the citizens of Fuvahmulah City.
Moreover, Shaheem also criticized the religious policy of the opposition and noted the opposition does not have a plan to further Islamic interests in the country. Furthermore, the well-known religious scholar underlined anti-campaigning strategies will not be put forth by President Yameen, highlighting the opposition have always prioritised anti-campaigning rather than promoting their policies. Shaheem assured PPM is conducting a positive campaign for the upcoming presidential election, adding the ruling party is united to achieve the common goal of re-electing President Yameen to a second term.
The running mate of PPM embarked on a campaign trip to Fuvahmulah City to gain support for PPM and President Yameen. As part of the trip, Shaheem will meet the residents of the city and hold door-to-door campaign activities.
