Ministry of Tourism has revealed the tourist arrivals recorded a 10% increase last month.
In this regard, 122,332 tourists arrived in Maldives in July, boosting the total number of tourist arrivals to 848, 847 so far this year, according to latest statistics published by tourism ministry.
Moreover, the most number of tourists arrived to Maldives from European countries, which contributed 49.5% of the total tourist arrivals in 2018, according to statistics. The number of arrivals from Europe was recorded at 419,991 which is an increase of 15.9% compared to the first 7 months of last year.
Meanwhile, tourist arrivals from Asia Pacific contributed 41.5% of tourist arrivals during July, which is marked as an increase of 3.8% compared to 2017. Highlighting on separate markets, most number of tourist arrivals were recorded from China with 18.9%, according to the tourism ministry.
