Elections Commission of Maldives has published the final voters list for the upcoming presidential election.
The final voters list has now been published on the official website of elections commission following the completion of the re-registration process. Voters can now check the registered ballot box by sending an SMS to 1414 with VR followed by the national ID card number, according to elections commission. The final voters list revealed 262,135 people are eligible to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
Moreover, the elections commission has also brought changes to the number of ballot boxes to be placed following the re-registration process. In this regard, there will be a total of 472 ballot boxes, including 122 ballot boxes in Male' City. In addition, a total 302 ballot boxes will be placed in other cities and atolls while 35 ballot boxes are to be kept in resorts. Meanwhile, 8 ballot boxes will be kept in industrial islands and 5 ballot boxes will be kept in other countries.
