Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has lauded the enhanced relations with Arab countries during the tenure of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
The current administration has enhanced relations with foreign countries, with bilateral ties established with new countries, the running mate of the ruling party highlighted at the gathering held by PPM in Villimale’. In this regard, Shaheem noted the chaos in attaining visa to perform Hajj and Umrah previously, appreciating the efforts of the president in establishing an Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Maldives to ease the visa process.
Moreover, Shaheem responded to criticism by opposition affirming there is no leader who is as capable as President Yameen. Shaheem added the president has always upheld Islamic principles and never supported freedom of religion in Maldives, noting he must be given a second term in office.
On conclusion, the running mate assured to always support President Yameen in his efforts to develop Maldives.
