Presidential Election was concluded peacefully: Elections Commission

President of Elections Commission of Maldives Ahmed Shareef has revealed the presidential election was concluded peacefully.

In a press conference, Ahmed Shareef said all procedures in all voting centres were conducted peacefully without any disruptions, adding only two complaints were received to the commission regarding the electoral process. Noting that no disruptions or chaos occurred, Shareef revealed it proves the presidential election was free, fair and credible.

A total of 262,135 people were eligible to vote in the presidential election. The commission placed 472 ballot boxes across Maldives and 4 other countries.
