Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan officially inaugurates the weekend market organised by Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Empowerment.
The weekend market is organised as part of the 100-day goals of the administration to encourage and empower small local businesses.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended the opening ceremony of the weekend market. President Solih visited the stalls and met with members of the public. He commented the weekend market was introduced in the hope to provide a common platform for youth who wish to market their products and talents.
Moreover, after inaugurating the market officially, Higher Education Minister Ibrahim Hassan noted the government has plans to develop talented youth within the school system.
A total of 55 stalls were featured in the first night of the weekend market. Music shows, children's activities and other entertainment activities were held as part of the weekend market.
The market will be held during the weekends, according to the youth ministry.
