Minister of Housing and Urban Development Aminath Athifa has revealed discussion are underway with relevant authorities to formulate the National Tenancy Act of Maldives.
Speaking to the media regarding the 100 day pledges to be fulfilled by the ministry, Housing Minister Aminath Athifa noted efforts to formulate the act is now underway, as the housing issue is relevant and a concern to all Maldivians.
Moreover, the housing minister revealed a special committee has been established to review the flat recipients of the social housing project. The minister said the committee works are progressing as scheduled.
Furthermore, Minister Athifa added surveying is ongoing to install lights on the roads of Male', Villimale' and Hulhumale' as well as the housing projects in those areas. She further noted efforts to begin the housing assessment including in the atolls are in progress, adding the main aim of such a survey is to identify the housing and living situation in the country.
