The government has decided to develop drug rehabilitation centres in three areas, in addition to a centre in Male' City.
Speaking at a press conference, Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services Shidhatha Shareef stated the government aims to develop rehabilitation centres across Maldives. In this regard, she revealed under the initiative, rehabilitation centres will be developed in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and Addu City.
Moreover, during the press briefing, CEO of National Drug Agency Hassan Shaheel noted about 1-thousand patients lack treatment due to lack of space in the centres, expressing hope the new rehabilitation centres will serve to solve the issue.
