Maldives Post Limited (MPL) has begun charging for bus transportation between Male'-Hulhule'-Hulhumale'. MPL has designated to charge USD 0.65 per person for each trip.
The bus transportation from Male'-Hulhule'-Hulhumale' was commenced on September7. Until the end of 2018, MPL provided the bus services for free. However, MPL has decided to charge from January 1, 2019 onwards.
The fee can be charged via a special touch link card designed for the service, according to MPL. While the card is available for USD 1.29 from bus terminals, any desired amount can be recharged to the card.
MPL revealed arrangements to pay using the touch link cards will be made in all bus stops. Moreover, MPL has noted students travelling in school uniforms and children will not be charged for the bus services.
