Foreign Minister attends OIC Ministerial Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has attended 46th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Foreign Minister Shahid will deliver a national statement briefing the member states on the recent political and democratic achievements in Maldives, as well as outlining Maldives' perspective on key issues affecting the Muslim Ummah. Shahid is accompanied by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Humayd.

Maldives became a member of the OIC in 1976, and since then had actively participated in the activities and meetings of the organisation. Comprising mainly of Muslim majority countries, it presently has 57 member states.
