MIFCO begins providing ice to fishermen from Fuvahmulah City

Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has begun providing ice to fishermen from Fuvahmulah City.

Arrangements have been made for the sale of ice to fishermen, with the ice producing facility in Fuvahmulah capable of producing 25 tonnes of ice in every 24 hours, according to MIFCO.

Recently, MIFCO began providing ice from a second ice producing facility in Addu City, with the launch of Addu Fisheries Complex in Hulhumeedhoo. MIFCO has assured the two facilities in Addu are capable of producing a joint total of 150 tonnes of ice every day.

MIFCO provides ice from 2 facilities in Addu, 1 facility in Fuvahmulah and 6 facilities in Huvadhoo Atoll.

The state-owned company purchases 350 tonnes of fish per day.
