Finance Ministry receives over USD 435 million as tax revenue

Ministry of Finance has revealed the state received over USD 435 million as revenue from tax within the first four months of the year.

While USD 435 million was received as revenue from tax, the biggest contributor is Goods and Services Tax (GST), according to statistics published by finance ministry. In this regard, USD 201 million was received from GST while USD 71 million was received from Business Profit Tax (BPT). Meanwhile, USD 68 million was received from import duty, USD 20 million as green tax, USD 16 million as airport service charge and USD 2.7 million as remittance tax.

Moreover, the state collected USD 97 million from other sources which includes about USD 30 million as resort lease fee and USD 16 million as airport development fee. Although USD 513 million was collected as revenue in the first four months, USD 487 million was spent on expenses.
