The state has spent more in the first five months than the total income received, according to statistics published by Ministry of Finance.
The statistics showed the state received an income of USD 588 million in the first five months of the year. The statistics also showed the state registered an expenditure of USD 631 million US dollars which is an increase of USD 43 million more than that of income.
While the expenses increased significantly, the most amount was spent on the operation of state. In this regard, the state spent USD 485 million to operate the state in the first five months, which comprises about USD 259 million as salaries of government staff and USD 200 million as administrative expenses. Meanwhile, USD 142 million was spent on development projects.
The income of the state, the statistics showed USD 588 million include USD 446 million as tax and USD 110 million from other income sources.
