The Government of Maldives has contracted Heavy Force Private Limited to conduct harbour development projects in three islands.
Heavy Force was contracted with the harbour development of Rin'budhoo in Dhaalu Atoll, Omadhoo in Thaa Atoll and Maradhoo-Feydhoo in Addu City. In this regard, the harbour development project in Feydhoo consists of constructing a 260 metre outer wall, placing rock boulders in an area of 243 metres. The harbour development in Rin'budhoo consists of constructing a 254 metre outer wall and placing rock boulders in an area of 65 metres. Meanwhile, the harbour development in Omadhoo consists of constructing a 388 metre outer wall and placing rock boulders in an area of 307 metres.
Moreover, the projects also include revetment installation in some islands, harbour lights installation as well as pavement construction. The projects were contracted at a price of USD 6 million.
Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure has decided to conduct harbour development projects in 45 islands this year.
