Ministry of Islamic Affairs has revealed renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Menk is set to visit Maldives this month.
According to the ministry, Mufti Menk will be visiting Maldives from January 14 to 18. Menk is scheduled to give lectures in Male' City, Addu City and Kulhudhuffushi City. The ministry said special programmes dedicated for youth and religious scholars are also scheduled under the visit by Mufti Menk.
Menk has visited Maldives before, with his most recent visit coming in 2018 when he gave lectures in Male and Addu. He had also visited in 2016, holding discussions with the then-defence minister on tackling religious extremism.
Mufti Menk is renowned for his efforts in creating awareness on social issues. He is also popular on social media through his messages on Islamic lifestyle and discipline.
