Two resort islands under monitoring

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has placed two resorts under monitoring after a foreign national who visited both islands tested positive for COVID-19.

In this regard, HPA placed Joali Maldives and Bodufushi, Raa Atoll in monitoring until contact tracing is complete. HPA said the foreigner tested positive after returning to his home country. He departed Maldives on March 31.

So far, 19 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives, while 4 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the country and 2 abroad. The four patients receiving treatment in Maldives recently arrived from the UK.
