Maldives commences tourism marketing campaign in India

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has commenced a tourism marketing campaign in India.

MMPRC launched the campaign with Indian travel agency, Kayak, from May 14 to 22, as part of the efforts to inspire travellers to keep dreaming about the destination. The joint campaign with Kayak will have advertisements depicting Visit Maldives Later displayed throughout the website. The messaging in the campaign is intended to encourage visitors to travel to the Maldives once the pandemic has been overcome.

India is likely to be amongst the top post-pandemic markets to the Maldives when the travel movements are relaxed. In January 2020, there were 13,846 tourist arrivals from India which was a 19% increase when compared to the same period from last year.
