National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has revealed all 86 samples taken from Manadhoo, Noonu Atoll have tested negative for COVID-19.
Speaking at the daily press briefing held at the NEOC, Spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said 86 contacts of 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases from Manadhoo have tested negative for COVID-19.
The first COVID-19 case was reported from Manadhoo on May 1 which of an elderly woman who passed away on May 21, after it was announced she made a successful recovery. The other 9 cases in Manadhoo were recorded on May 15.
The island in Noonu Atoll is currently under monitoring condition since the first case was reported. NEOC says the 9 individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 from Manadhoo have been transferred to Irufushi Quarantine Facility.
