Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) has revealed its teams visited 75 households as part of the efforts to identify symptomatic individuals in Hoadehdhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
Speaking in a press conference, Spokesperson of HEOC, Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq stated no positive cases were detected from the island since September 23. Highlighting the ongoing efforts to identify the community spread in the island, Dr. Nazla revealed teams in Hoadehdhoo have visited 75 households so far. She added samples have been collected from 4 individuals identified as symptomatic.
Hoadehdhoo has reported the highest number of cases from a single island apart from the Greater Male' Region, with 45 cases. A cluster was formed in Hoadehdhoo among contacts of two individuals who had tested positive from the island on September 4. HPA stated COVID-19 cases have been found from 6% of the households in Hoadehdhoo, while 19% households had direct contacts of positive cases.
