India provides urgent consignment of BCG vaccine to the Maldives

The Government of India has provided an urgent consignment of BCG vaccine to the Maldives.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the Indian government had provided the consignment in response to an urgent request by the Government of the Maldives. As such, the Government of India has provided 2,400 vials of BCG vaccine, with 10 doses per vial. The consignment arrived in the Maldives on December 31.

The consignment was airlifted from Mumbai, India in coordination with the Indian government agencies, and the Ministry of Health, and with the support of the High Commission of the Maldives in Delhi and the Honorary Consul of the Maldives in Mumbai.

In a statement released following the arrival of the consignment, the Government of the Maldives extended its deepest appreciation to the Prime Minister of India, the Government and the people of India for its timely assistance at all times.
