Maldives Immigration has revealed the Maldives Border Miles programme has reached a membership count of 100,000.
Maldives Border Miles, which is an initiative of the Maldives Immigration, is the world’s first destination loyalty programme. Launched at the start of the year, the programme has now enrolled 100,000 members and has exceeded the initial target set for the year.
Members of the Border Miles programme will earn points during each visit to the Maldives, and the number of points is based on the duration of stay, visits to celebrate their special occasions, visits on local occasions, frequency of visits, and other aspects. Rewards, services or benefits to the members are based on their tier status. They shall earn a certain amount of points to reach each tier - 500 points for the bronze tier Aida, 2,000 points for the silver tier Antara and 4,000 points for the gold tier Abaarana.
Membership to the programme is free and tourists can enroll as a member through the website of the programme. The grandest offer to the members is the VIP service offered to Abaarana members.
